City Tour around Colonial Lima & Museum

Itinerary
The tour starts visiting the tradicional & residential zones of the capital: Lovers park, point where we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. We will also have a sight to the Huaca Pucllana, archaeological enclosure built in the 4th century D.C. Then we will continue towards the Olive park in San Isidro’s district. Later we will visit the Historical center of Lima, Plaza St Martin and the Major Plaza, with his distinctive buildings: Palace of Government, Bishop PAlace, the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.
Our day includes a visit to the Convento de San Francisco, considered the major sample of the religious colonial art in America. We will appreciate: The Library, the Sacristy, the art colection of Francisco de Zurbaran y Rivera, and the infraestructure, decorated finely with Sevillian blue rollers of the 16th century, his beautiful Moorish arches and the Underground Crypts known as the Catacombs.

Museo Arqueologico
Is the largest and oldest state museum in Peru, located on Plaza Bolívar in the Pueblo Libre district of Lima. The museum houses more than 100,000 artifacts spanning the entire history of human occupation in what is now Peru. Highlights include the “Estela Raymondy” and the “Olbelisco Tello” from Chavín de Huantar, very important objects for the Peruvian Archaeology, you will also enjoy an impressive scale model of the Inca citadel, Machu Picchu.

Belongs to Miguel Mujica Gallo foundation. It has an extraordinary collection of golden and silver pieces and precious stones, of the diverse pre-Columbian cultures that developed more than 3000 years ago in the different regions of Peru
A visit to the “Museo de Oro” will show you the different skills of the Peruvian CHIMU ancestors in regar of work with metals and precious stones. You will also enjoy the weapons of the world collection.
Museo Larco Herrera
The Museo Arqueológico Rafael Larco Herrera is a privately owned museum of pre-Columbian art, located in the Pueblo Libre District of Lima, Peru. The museum is housed in an 18th century vice-royal mansion built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid. It showcases chronological galleries that provide a thorough overview of 4,000 of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. It boasts one of the world’s largest collections of pre-Columbian art including Moche, Nazca, Chimú, and Inca pieces. Additionally, the Larco Museum is well known for its gallery of pre-Columbian erotic pottery.
It was one of the first museums in the world to make its entire 45,000 piece collection available in an online electronic catalog.
In 1925, Rafael Larco Herrera acquired a collection of vases and other archaeological pieces from Alfredo Hoyle, who was his brother-in-law. There were approximately 600 ceramic pieces in all. The arrival of these objects ignited a collector’s enthusiasm in his son, Rafael Larco Hoyle. Soon after, Larco Herrera left his son in charge of the collection and those pieces completed the first collection of what would become the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum.
